Guitar and Theory Lessons for All Ages and Abilities
For 11 years I have been devoted to the study of my instrument and I am fortunate enough to share this passion and knowledge with my students looking to progress in their musical journey.
Over the course of 3 years studying Jazz at Leeds Conservatoire I have been mentored by some of the best musicians and tutors based in both the North of England and in London. I have not only learnt how to be proficient at my instrument but have learnt many teaching skills and methods from the tutors who mentored me. During my education I received a First Class Honours in BA (Hons) Jazz at Leeds Conservatoire and a Distinction* for my Extended Diploma at Access Creative College.
As a working musician I have played at a variety of venues, festivals and functions across the country and in 2025 I won the ‘Best Soloist Award’ at Durham’s Great North Big Band Jazz competition. Some recent festival appearances include: Leeds Jazz Festival, Rock n Ribs Festival, In It Together Festival, Humber Street Sesh and the Rock n Roll Circus Festival.

Repertoire
Build a strong foundation of songs and pieces that match your level and taste. We’ll explore music that challenges you just enough to grow, while keeping it fun and rewarding.
Technique
Learn how to make your playing smooth, confident, and expressive. We’ll focus on posture, hand position, picking, and finger exercises that help you play with ease and avoid bad habits.
Harmony & Melody
Discover how chords and melodies fit together to create the music you love. We’ll explore how to build chords, play scales, and use them creatively when you play or improvise.
Rhythm
Develop your sense of timing and groove so you can play steadily and with confidence. We’ll use clapping, counting, and play-along exercises to make rhythm feel natural and enjoyable.
Aural Training
Train your ears to recognize rhythms, melodies, and chords. This helps you play by ear, pick up songs quickly, and feel more connected to the music you hear.
Theory
Understand the “why” behind the notes. Music theory gives you the tools to create, improvise, and communicate with other musicians more effectively.
